Spam Musubi (26)

Spam Musubi, Ducky in a Shredded Carrot & Cucumber Nest, Fish Bottle of Soy Sauce, Grapes, Dried Apricots

This bento has been a long-time coming…

I bought a can of Spam at least a month ago and have seen it peeking out from the pantry many times only to remain behind in favor of more familiar items.

I broke down today and finally took out the Spam to try my hand at Spam Musubi.

Now, I have to say that Spam does not strike me as particularly appetizing but Spam Musubi seemed intriguing so I gave it a shot. For the recipe and process please check the recipe section.

This bento has two Spam Musubi along with a nest of shredded carrot and cucumber for the little duck. A few grapes and dried apricots round out the bento along with a fish bottle containing soy sauce.

This bento was placed in the butterfly Raya bag along with a Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi and tangelo to complete today’s Ideal Meal.

The Spam Musubi, by the way, was pretty good. I think it needs a sauce so I’ll try the remaining ones with a variety of sauces to determine my favorite. Try your hand at this popular Hawaiian treat when you’re in the mood for something different.
